The largest public event staged in France, along with the Tour de France, with 10 million visitors over the ten days.

 

What a spectacle - the world’s greatest fleet of Tall Ships, 5th-14th July

 

Once every five years more than 50 spectacular Tall Ships from around the globe gather along the banks for the Seine at Rouen for ten days of free festivities, on-board visits and parades.

 

As for British ships, there will be the Grand Turk frigate and the triple-masted Tenacious on display.

 

The Grand Turk is a perfect replica of an 18th century English frigate. You will have seen it star in the film and television in series such as Hornblower.

 

Tenacious was built by the Jubilee Sailing Trust, Southampton. a charity that promotes the integration of people of all physical abilities through the challenge and adventure of tall ship sailing. The Tenacious is designed to enable crews of mixed physical abilities to sail on equal terms.
