Le Gaudin's resident war historian launches Normandy Battlefied Tours
Clive Canvin, mine host, fluent German speaker and war historian ran Le Gaudin's first two day tour of the battlefields on 11th nd 13th September 2011. The response was fantastic.

Clive explains his deep interest in WWI and II:
“It stems from my being half English, half German. My father, a Tommy, met my mother while he was serving with the British army in Germany, just after the war. I have spent a lot of my life in Germany and inevitably became interested in the conflicts. So much so that, for a number of years I owned a cottage near the Somme.”
When he lived in England, Clive acted as a historian with the Imperial War Museum, compiling recollections from veterans.
After selling the cottage in the Somme, Clive and Denise bought and renovated Le Gaudin, also strategically placed near historical battlefields.
Visitors to Le Gaudin who share Clive’s passion can view his collection of wartime memorabilia.
