Le Gaudin is set amongst the rolling hills of Swiss Normande sitting in a Heritage Area of forests and fields. The history of Le Gaudin is still being uncovered but parts of the house date back to the 16th century, The lake in the grounds was hand made and is thought to have been made by the monks from the Abbey now in ruins in the ground. The Pilgrims path runs at the back of the property and the grand gateway still stands amongst the ruins of the boundary walls. The owner of Le Gaudin in the year 1754 a wealthy horse owner is believed to have been shot in a dual with the Marquee of the Chateau a couple of kilometres up the road.
Le Gaudin is an ongoing project for Clive and Denise and, as visitors come back year after year, it is always an interesting topic of conversation as to what is on the job list for 2008.
